OBJECTIVES
The objectives of a Sociology department include teaching students about social system, social change and how to apply sociological theory. The main purpose of sociology is to understand social life by studying various aspects of society. Through Sociology, we try to understand the events and social relations taking place in society. Sociology is the scientific study of human society. Understanding social mobility solving social problems building inclusive communities or the relationship between social structures and human actions. Investigations the Organization, structure and change of social groups and institutions.
- Understanding Social Issues- Students learn to analyze and interpret social issues and phenomena
- Applying Sociological Theories- Students learn to use sociological theories to understand and address social issues
- Developing Research Skills- Students learn to collect, analyze and interpret data to understand social issues
- Exploring Social Institutions- Students learn to explore social institutions and social consciousness
- Promoting Social Change- Students learn to use sociological knowledge to promote social change and problem solving
- Understanding inequalities- Students learn to understand the mechanisms that product inequalities and injustices
- Understanding Criminal Justice- Students learn to understand the legal, political, and social contexts of criminal justices organization and practices
- Understanding how people live in communities- Students learn to understand how people live in communities and create better societies
